->Anderson, Jean BurrIthaca: Jean Burr Anderson passed away peacefully at home Fri., Feb. 25, 2011 with family at her side. She was born in Lincoln, NE on Dec. 27, 1920 to William Wesley and Aural Scott Burr. She graduated from the Univ. of Nebraska, where she met and married her husband Ronald in 1948. Ron and Jean moved to Madison, WI, then Lexington, KY before bringing the family to Ithaca in 1954.She was a loving and giving mother to her four children, and a devoted, loving wife and companion to Ron. She enjoyed reading and involvement with her PEO chapter, as well as her many craft groups.She is survived by Ronald, her husband of 62 years, and brother William Wesley Burr Jr. of Gaithersburg, MD. Her children and their families include daughter Susan and husband Ron Serlin (grandson Zane) of Madison, WI; son Scott (granddaughter Haley) of Hopkinton, MA; daughter Carol (grandchildren Jared, Jacob, Casey and Lucas) of Winthrop, WA; and son Burr and his wife Brenda (grandchildren Emily and Zachary) of Mountain Top, PA.Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospicare of Tompkins County.
