Jean "Betty" Smith Beloved mother and grandmother CANANDAIGUA - Jean "Betty" Smith, age 85, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. She was born in Jakeys Hollow, Beaver County, Pa., and was the daughter of Todd Reigel and Jennie (Roadarmel) Reigel Hixon. Mrs. Smith and her family moved to Canandaigua when she was age 14 and she lived most of her life there. Left to grieve are six children, Dennis (Judy) Smith, Bonnie Smith (Peter), Carol Payne (Stan), Thomas (Diane) Smith, Bette Jo (Lewis) Payne and Todd Smith; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; eight sisters; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Shawn Michael Smith; sister, Gladys Eddinger; and long time companion, Bob Caulkins. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Interment will be with her son Shawn, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. Memorial contributions may be made to Happiness House, 731 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva, NY 14456.
