JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Jean Allen Peters, formerly of Scotia, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, after a brief illness. Mrs. Peters was born in Lake Placid, N.Y. and graduated from Lake Placid H.S. and Fredonia State College. She was a music teacher at Castleton High School and, in later years, a church organist and choir director. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Schenectady and a founding member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Rotterdam. She was married to Henry W. Peters for 54 years. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Dutelle (Dan) of Liverpool and Susan Tiberio (Paul) of St. Augustine, Fla.; six grandchildren, Erica, Carrie and Geoffrey Dutelle and Melissa, Meghan and Peter Tiberio; several cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, 153 Nott Terrace, Schenectady. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund or to a scholarship in Jean's name to Dollars for Scholars, c/o Nick Pallotta, 4338 Wetzel Rd., Liverpool, NY 13090.
