Jean A. Nelsonof Longmont, Colo.Jean A. Nelson, 81, of Longmont, Colo., died June 17, 2003, in Longmont. Jean was born on September 8, 1921 in Binghamton, N.Y. to Edward and Bernetta (Hickey) Shaughnessy. She married Frederick C. Nelson in Little Meadow, Pa. on March 24, 1943. She is survived by two sons, Ed (Barbara) Nelson, Estes Park, Colo., and Jerry (Ah-Mai) Nelson, Longmont, Colo.; three daughters, Patty (Jim) Araya, Milpitas, Calif., Rita (Douglas) Helgoth, Loveland, Colo., and Sharon (Scott) Stevens, Berthoud, Colo.; three brothers, Ed (Ann) Shaughnessy, Vestal, N.Y., Paul (Marge) Shaughnessy, Endicott, N.Y., Jerry (Marie) Shaughnessy, Apalachin, N.Y; two sisters, Rita Shaughnessy, Little Meadows, Pa. and Helen Fitzgerald of Apalachin, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1997; and one brother, James Shaughnessy.
