Jean A. (Sztorc) LaPolice, 74, of Westfield, died on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Western Mass Hospital. She was a nurse at Baystate Medical Center for thirty five years and retired in 1998. Jean was born on March 8, 1940 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late Walter and Marie (LaRiviere) Sztorc. She was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. Jean attended Holyoke Community College and was a 1977 graduate of the UMass, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She is survived by her, two sons, David LaPolice and his wife, Bonnie of Concord, NH and Thomas LaPolice of Southwick; a daughter, Susan Sclafani of Southwick; six grandchildren, Cassandra Johnson and her husband, Carl; Jonathan LaPolice and his wife, Laura, Joseph Sclafani, Jarrod Sclafani, C.J. Sclafani and Kyle LaPolice and two great grandchildren, Linnea Johnson and Gracelyn LaPolice, her former husband, Theodore L. LaPolice of Westfield and her cousin, Richard Zajchowski of Shutesbury. She is predeceased by her sister, Donna Bills. Jean’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee Center at 11:30 am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 12:30 pm. Her burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 12:00 pm.
