Brown, Janice NashOct. 30, 1928 - April 3, 2010Janice Nash Brown, 81, of Sarasota, formerly of Geneva, Ill., Perry, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Winter Haven, Lake Placid, Key West and Banner Elk, N.C., died April 3, 2010.A public remembrance will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pine Shores Presbyterian Church Community Center, Sarasota. Arrangements are by Toale Brothers Funeral Home.Survivors include her husband, Tom; a daughter, Sue Binns of Sarasota; a son, Aaron of Sarasota; a brother, Bruce Nash of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Jan Brown loved her family, ice cream and chocolate. Born in Geneva, Ill., she moved to the Florida Panhandle at a young age and then settled with her family in Sarasota. She started at Sarasota High School as a sophomore and met her husband, Tom, there. She worked for the school system and raised three children, Sue, Kevin and Aaron. She was a matriarch with a strong will and loved to share family stories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Sarasota.
