Janice Miller Brown, 98, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2003.Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home chapel, Tuscumbia. Interment will follow in Booneville Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Eldridge, pastor of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia, will officiate.Mrs. Brown was a native of Booneville, Miss., and a member of First United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, Tenn. She volunteered with the Red Cross during World War II, assisting servicemen and their families.She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Norris Brown of Fayetteville, Tenn.; her parents, T.J. and Melissa Miller of Booneville, Miss.; sisters, Myrtle Weems, Gretchen Stott Smythe, both of Booneville, Miss.; brother, Clifford Miller of Hagerstown, Md.; nephews, Joe Miller Stott of Virginia Beach, Va., and John Edward Stott of Palm Desert, Calif.Survivors include her nephew, Harold Thomas Stott and wife, Eunice, of Tuscumbia; very special friend, Sarah Tubbs; and spouses of her nephews, Joyce Stott and Lois Stott; three great-nieces and four great-nephews.Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
