Janet L. Smith VERO BEACH, FL - Janet L. Smith, 62, of Lawrenceville, NJ, died on Dec. 31, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, FL. She grew up in Columbia, NJ, and had been a resident of the Trenton area for over 40 years. She was a winter resident of Vero Beach for the last four years. Prior to her retirement, she was a teacher at the Katzenbach School for the Deaf for over 30 years. She was an avid reader, world traveler, and game player. She loved movies and theater. She volunteered at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Capital Health Medical Center and at Easel Animal Rescue, two of her passions. Janet was an exceptional friend and special "aunt" to her friends' children. Survivors include her sister, Susan Lintlop and husband, Roger, of Larkspur, CA; a close cousin, Jeanette Blank of Bath, PA, and other cousins in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area.
