Janet H. Smith of Windsor Janet H. Smith, formerly of Doraville, NY, passed away August 28, 2010, with her family at her side at the age of 77. She was born in Johnson City, NY, on September 9, 1932. She retired from Harpursville Central School as a cafeteria worker. She was predeceased by her husband, Forrest C. Smith; her parents, John L. and Harriet G. (Lloyd) Fox; step-mother, Gretta Bradley-Fox; two brothers, John R. and Robert N. Fox; two step-brothers, Robert and Donald Bradley; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Francis Smith. She is survived by her two loving sons and their wives, Larry E. and Vickie Smith along with Stacy and Jennifer Smith; two daughters, Sally Durisek and Patti Ferber; and two son-in-laws, William Durisek and Gary Ferber. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and wife, Donald and Minerva Smith; two sister-in-laws, Maxine and Wanda Fox; a step-sister, Ruth Jones; a step-brother, Thomas Bradley; and many nephews and nieces. She was loved dearly by her twelve grandchildren, Dennis and Suzanne Gates, Jeremiah Smith, Jeff LaVare, Jr., Steve and Lisa Hoyt, Scott and Adrienne Hoyt, Donald Gates, Georgianna and Jason Rayno, Ashley Ferber and Joseph Gaige, Molly Ferber, Joshua Ferber, Taylor Ray Parkes, and Paige Smith; along with 12 great-grandchildren. Her devoted friends Alice Eisenmann, Bert Owens, and Sharon Noyes stood by her side until the end. She will be sorely missed by all. A special thanks to Taylor Ray, Joshua, and Paige for all the special care they have given to her. Thanks to the Lourdes Hospice for all their support. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sat. at 12:30 p.m. at the Harpursville American Legion on Welton Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lourdes Hospice 4102 Vestal Rd.
