CONWAY, S.C.- Janet Eileen (Pickard) (Hawkins) McCormack, 70, of Conway, SC, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Conway Medical Center. Born on May 29, 1938 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Edna M. Barrett Pickard. She graduated from Milton High School in 1956 and Chandler School for Women. She was a member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls and soloist for her church. For many years, she was executive secretary and office manager for Dimark Precision Sheetmetal and Machining. She resided in Milton, Stoughton and Easton, MA, before retiring in 2000 and moving to Conway. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Janet is survived by her husband, James B. McCormack of Conway; one daughter, Leann M. Hart of E. Topsham, VT; two stepsons, Edward McCormack of Braintree, MA, Michael McCormack of Whitman, MA; four stepdaughters, Carolyn Lundgren of Norwell, MA, Eileen McCormack of Boston, MA, Shannon McCormack of Braintree, Tracy McCormack of Quincy, MA; one sister, Doris White and one sister-in-law Alice Pickard, three grandsons, five step grandsons and four step granddaughters. She is predeceased by one son, Eric L. Hawkins and one brother, Laurence W. Pickard. No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eric L. Hawkins Memorial Scholarship Fund, Coyle and Cassidy High School, 2 Hamilton Street, Taunton, MA 02780. Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
