BROWN - Janet E. (nee Shuart) 86, on February 15, 2007 of Mahwah, NJ. Beloved wife of the late Maxwell Brown (1984). Dear sister of Harold A. Shuart. Janet was also survived by nieces and nephews. Janet graduated from Ramsey High School in 1938, AB Converse College in 1942, A.I.B. Banking Courses in 1943 and attended New York University- Statistics & Money & Banking 1944-1946. Janet was a Bond Clerk for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a member of the American Statistical Association. In April 1965, Janet was a founding member of the Mahwah Historical Society, and served as the President from 1970-1974. Janet was also a member of the Mahwah Board of Adjustment, the Housing Commission and the Senior Citizen's Advisory Board. She was a member of N.S.D.A.R. Shatemuc Chapter-Historian & Flag Chairman, and a member of the O.E.S. Fortitude Chapter. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday February 19, 2007 at 10 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Grob officiating. Interment will follow at Airmont Lutheran Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
