Janet Brown, 74, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, N.J., departed this life on April 20, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Virgina Beach, Va. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Union Baptist Church, East Grand Street at Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, N.J. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements are in the loving care of the Nesbitt Funeral Home, 165 Madison Ave., Elizabeth, N.J. Ms. Brown retired from Romerovski Industries in Roselle Park, N.J., as a grader in 2009. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of The Inspirational Choir, where she held the office of secretary for three years, and then secretary of communications. Ms. Brown was also a member of the Church School and the Kitchen Committee. She leaves to cherish loving memories, her daughter, Simone Sumbry (Smitty); a granddaughter, Nikita Sumbry; her family caregivers; nieces, Jacqueline Davis and Audrey Booth (Mark), and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
