Jane S. Moore (nee Stewart) on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Age 85. Wife of 58 years to the late Edward H. Moore. Mother of Barbara (Thomas) Boyle, Pamela (Gary) Strickland, Elaine (Steve) Awalt, and the late Dorothy Lynn Moore. Grandmother of Bradford (Diane) Boyle, Bryant (Stephanie) Boyle, Breanne (Clayton) Metz, David Strickland, Kelly Strickland, and Daniel Awalt. Daughter of the late Samuel A. and Frances (nee Walls) Stewart. Born and raised in Clayton where she lived most of her life, Jane was a 1946 graduate of Clayton High School and later received her Bachelors in Education from Glassboro State College in 1950. She retired in 1988 after 22 years of elementary teaching, over 18 of which were in Clayton. Jane was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clayton throughout her life serving as a church officer, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. She was also a Girl Scout leader and was an active supporter of her children in all of their endeavors. During high school and college, she played field hockey. Music was always a big part of Jane's life including her playing of the trumpet. She enjoyed sewing and made many clothes for her children and grandchildren including the wedding dresses for her three daughters. Many summers were spent with Jane canning vegetables. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Clayton, 205 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the church. Inurnment Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church of Clayton or to the Friends Village, One Friends Drive, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
