Jane-McKendree Ayers, est décédée.
AYERS It is with great sadness that the family of Jane McKendree Ayers announces her death on December 7, 2004. She was born in New York City, where she grew up. She graduated from Smith College in 1936 and in the same year married Allan F. Ayers, Jr., who died in 1984. They resided in Riverside, Conn. for 30 years and raised four children there. Mrs. Ayers was a dedicated community volunteer at Greenwich Hospital, the Smith Club of Greenwich, Greenfingers Garden Club, and the Bruce Museum. She later became a recreational therapist and worked at Laurelton Convalescent Home and Nathaniel Witherall, both in Greenwich. She was a lifelong lover of opera and music, a voracious reader, and an accomplished crafter and needlepointer. She is survived by her four children, Jill Ayers Gilbert of Brooklyn, N.Y., Allan F. Ayers, III of Inverness, Ill., Charles McKendree Ayers of Leoti, Ks. and Abigail Jane Bruce of Groton, as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
