SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Jane Marie (Veroneau) Dupont, 49, passed away on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, after a long fight against breast cancer. Jane lived an active and vibrant life and will be missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Dupont was born April 11, 1960, in Rochester, daughter of William John Veroneau and the late Joan (Hammell) Veroneau. Raised in Penacook, she attended local schools, graduating from Bishop Brady High School, Concord, Class of 1978, and Chamberlayne Junior College, Boston, Class of 1981 with a major in fashion design. Jane and family have made their home in San Diego since the early 1980s, but have always maintained a love of New Hampshire. Jane's years at Chamberlayne College sharpened her eye for detail She was a fine seamstress with a knack for original designs. She was a devoted mother and homemaker in addition to her full-time employment. Jane had been employed as a consultant for many years with College Loan Corporation, assisting secondary school students with future financial planning. Jane is survived by her twin sons, David and Jonathon, their half-sister, Elizabeth; her devoted husband, David; her siblings, Geraldine Veroneau, Jacqueline Weiner, Jeanne Veroneau, Judith Sullivan, William John Jr., Joan Veroneau and step-brother Isaac Denham; and many caring cousins, nieces and nephews. IN HER LIFE: Jane enjoyed simple pleasures. Among her special treats was spending holidays with her family at the local beaches, hosting picnics and cookouts. Another special delight was following her favorite musical aggregation, The Grateful Dead, from place to place in the United States and in Europe. She was especially proud of her sons' surfing skills in which they excelled. They became particularly noteworthy in the San Diego area earning recognition in the national media. She motivated them to acquire full licensing by San Diego Fire-Rescue as certified Ocean Lifeguards. Until a month before her passing she still swam a mile a day and often ran throughout the San Diego hills. Jane had a great sense of humor. We will all miss that deep hearty laugh of hers. She will also be missed by her father, William, and his wife, the Rev. Priscilla Denham. SERVICES: Calling hours will be held Friday Oct. 9, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 52 Pleasant St., Concord, in the vestibule of the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. and immediately following the Mass, Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Penacook, in the Veroneau family gravesite.
