Jane Lenore Moore went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 3, 2007. She was born the first of eight children to James and Vinta Buxton, in Tulsa, Okla., January 25, 1921. After graduation from Springfield Senior High and attending State Teachers' College, she married Lawrence E. Moore on June 16, 1940. To this union a son, Lawrence V. "Larry", was born. Jane retired as a dental assistant to Drs. Phillip Bates and Guy Bates. She was an active lifelong member of Hamlin Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant sister, and a brother, Jim Buxton. Survivors are Larry and Cheryl Moore, Springfield; granddaughters Melinda, and husband, Jeffrey Johnson, Leawood, Kan., and Robin, and husband, Shawn O'Neail, Centreville, Va.; and great-grandchildren Luke and Noah Johnson, and Kennedy and Keira O'Neail. Also surviving are siblings Betty Hartz (J.L.), Wilma Buxton, Warren Buxton (Billie), Stanley Buxton, and Bill Buxton (Janelle); and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, and the funeral, 1 p.m. Tuesday, both at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North, Springfield.
