Gray, Jane Hart Duncan, 82, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008. Jane lived in Ft. Lauderdale with her daughter and son-in-law the last 5 years, moving here from North Carolina. She was born and raised in Oxford, North Carolina, daughter of Allie Lynwood Hart and Eugenia Currin Hart. She is survived by her daughter Eugenia Currin Duncan Ellis and son-in-law, Theodore R. Ellis, and was predeceased by son Lynnwood Hart Duncan. She is also survived by stepsons, Steve Gray and David Gray of Maryland; three grandchildren, William Daniel Whitsett of Massachusetts, Sarah Eugenia Duncan of Maine, Amy Duncan Brown of Ft. Lauderdale and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Lynn Schutt of Maine and Adeline Currin Whitsett of Massachusetts. After retiring from the Court System of Guilford County as a Magistrate, Jane and her husband Wayne bought and operated River Ridge Golf Club in Bracey, Virginia with Jane as the registered pro. Deciding to use her free time to continue her love of learning, she returned to school and earned a degree in Nursing. Known for always reading the instructions, she mastered computer technology well into her 70s. She was a force to reckon with and will be missed by her family and friends.
