Memorial service for Jane Ellen Gray, 69, who died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, will be Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Tuscumbia. The Rev. Bill Uhlman and Dr. Rob Jackson officiating and music by her grandson, Brad Johnson. The Rev. Phil Waldrep will conduct the graveside service in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.Mrs. Gray was born Aug. 19, 1936, in Colbert County to Buford E. and Jeannie Gooch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Gray. She is survived by her three children, Janet Johnson and her husband, Fred, of Olive Branch, Miss., the Rev. Tony Gray and his wife, Laura, of Columbus, Ga., and Debbie Waldrep and her husband, Phil, of Decatur. Six grandchildren also survive her, Brad and Lindsey Johnson, Maegan and Melodi Waldrep, and Matthew and Torrie Gray. She is also survived by one brother, Buford “Buddy” Gooch of Tuscumbia; and two sisters, Ann Skidmore and Linda West, both of Tuscumbia.Mrs. Gray was a committed Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. A longtime member of First Southern Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, she currently was a member of Central Baptist Church in Decatur. She lived all of her life in Colbert County until two years ago when she became a resident of Cedar Springs Retirement Village in Decatur. Pallbearers will be Steve Skidmore, Barry Gooch, Brian Gooch, Jason West, William Lenz, Derrick Daniels and Phillip Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Scarborough, Wally Poss, J.B. Meadows, Irvin Wilson and Paul Martin. The family request in lieu of flowers, that memorial gifts be made in her memory to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2024, Decatur, AL 35602.
