<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Sept. 3, 1941 - Feb. 24, 2015 Jane Burt Moore passed away February 24, 2015. She was a resident of Mobile, AL. Jane was born in Lodi, Wisconsin to Alice and Lloyd Burt and graduated from Lodi High School. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Moore of Mobile, AL; sister Marcella George (John) of Nevada, IA; sister Maurine Burt of Lodi, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Janie Moore of Maryville, TN; special friend and sister in life Susan Morschhauser of Oregon, WI; numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her "special girls" Sadie and Abby. She is preceded in death by her parents. Jane grew up in Lodi, WI as the daughter of a farmer and school teacher. Growing up she was active in 4H and raised several Grand Champion Angus steers. She left Lodi in 1965 for a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where she met her husband. They were married September 19, 1970. Jane's career with the FBI took her to Washington, D.C., Tampa, FL, Memphis, TN, and Knoxville, TN. She retired from the FBI in 1998. In 2001 she moved to Mobile, AL when her husband accepted a teaching position with the University of South Alabama. Until her health began to fail, she enjoyed being with family and friends, bird watching, the Green Bay Packers, and traveling. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, AL. Internment will take place in Maryville, TN in the Spring when a memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jane and Robert Moore Endowed Scholarship at the Development Office, 300 Alumni Circle, University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL 36688 (251-460-7032).
