Jane Ann Lee August 24, 1922 - February 24, 2009 NORWICH - Jane Ann Lee 86 formerly of Roxbury Court Niantic died Tuesday February 24, 2009 at the WW Backus Hospital, Norwich. She was born August 24, 1922 in Fisherville, MA the daughter of George and Clara Barnes Desrosier. She married Frank W. Lee at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church on Dec. 26, 1940. Mr. Lee died November 1996. Jane graduated from the former WMI in New London in June of 1940. She was an avid piano and organ player. She often entertained her family and friends with her playing. She was a past member of the Hammond Organ Society. She and her husband Frank moved to Niantic and lived there for over 40 years. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease Jane made her home with her daughter Carol and her husband Walter Nieto of Norwich. She then became a resident in 2008 at Orchard Grove Specialty Care in Uncasville. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and the best “Grammy†a family could ever have. Her family was the love of her life. She loved nature, her backyard friends,†the birds and squirrels and tending to her flower gardens. She was a true lover of life. Everyday was a good day, rain or shine. She enjoyed each and everyone of her friends and neighbors. In her passing she leaves us with yet another gift, a lifetime of wonderful memories and all her love as always. Besides her daughter and son in law she is survived by her son Richard A. Lee of Uncasville and her daughter Linda Douglass of Griswold. Her grandchildren Dawn Shaw of Plainfield, Connie Lasaracina and Rachel McAuliffe both of Norwich, Jesse McAuliffe of Griswold and Lexington Park, Md, Garrett and Brandon Lee both of Uncasville. Her great-grandchildren Devin, Tyler, Alexandra and Ricky. Her loving sister Doris Lawrence and her husband Irving of Waterford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home 48 Grand St. Niantic. A prayer service will be held at 2 O'clock and interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Niantic. Kindly omit flowers.
