SEBASTIAN -- Mrs. Jane B. Abel of Sebastian, formerly of Lakeland, died of cancer Sunday (Nov. 30, 2003) in Vero Beach. She was 71.Born in Holding Ford, Minn., on Oct. 12, 1932, she lived in Lakeland before moving to Sebastian in March. She was an advertising manager for Kmart. She was past secretary and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a former member of the Moose Lodge No. 945. She was president of the Medical NCO Army Wives' Club. She was president of the Catholic Women's Club. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.Mrs. Abel is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Gibson Abel; sons, Tom Abel and Jim Abel, both of Sebastian; daughters, Debbie Walker, Vero Beach, and Diane King, Lakeland; brothers, Joe Kedrowski and Hank Kedrowski, both of Chicago; sisters, Dorothy Peterson, St. Paul, Minn., and Mary Schlagheck, St. Cloud, Minn.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeland Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
