WHITEHALL Jane A. Millet, 74, of Whitehall, died on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness with her family and members of the clergy at her side. Jane was received into the loving embrace of God and our Blessed Mother. Born on December 29, 1929 in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Godfrey. She received her B.S. in nursing at the College of St. Rose. She was a clinical nursing instructor at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, N.Y. and at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, N.Y. Jane was married to Francis Millet in 1957 and they recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised five children in a warm and loving home. Jane was health educator for Whitehall High School for over 25 years where she was a mentor who touched and shaped the lives of many students and staff. Jane's strong faith along with her love, compassion and respect for others was evident in all aspects of her life. She not only was a loving wife, mother and friend, she gave herself tirelessly and unselfishly to her family, church and community. Over the years, she dedicated her time and talents to Our Lady of Angels and Our Lady of Hope parishes, serving as a religious education coordinator and as an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Most recently, she was an active volunteer and local board member of literacy volunteers. She is predeceased by her parents, her dear sister, Mary and her granddaughter, Audny Borden. Jane is survived by her devoted husband, Francis E. Millet; her children and their families, Jim and Donna Millet, Kathy and Peter Marthy, Jane and Kris Noonan, Eileen and Brian Borden, John and Stacey Millet; her 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Godfrey and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also blessed with many close friends. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 9 Wheeler Avenue, Whitehall with Fr. David LeFort, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Whitehall. Friends and relatives may call at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 William Street, Whitehall on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Skenesborough Rescue Squad, P.O. 333, Whitehall, NY 12887 or Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 9 Wheeler Avenue, Whitehall, NY 12887.
