WILLIAMS, Dr. Jan Lampley Age 65, died on November 8, 2011 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was survived by her husband and teenage sweetheart, Doug Grubbs; sidekick Scottish terriers, Grace Ann (11) and Gus (2). Born on February 18, 1946 in Nashville, TN, Jan received her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and her Ph.D. in Psychoanalytic Theory from Vanderbilt University. She was extraordinarily loving, tough and intuitive. She was a practicing psychotherapist in Nashville, who was totally devoted to her patients. She endeared herself to those who knew her with pure honesty and humor. She saw life through an artist eye, a true artisan in all media. Her recent passion (the Otto series) was graphic photomontage, and can been seen on Flickr.com at akaLunaMoonbeam. A celebration of Jan's life and wit will be held Saturday, November 12th from 3-5 p.m., at 3806 Whitland Avenue. All her favorite stories will be shared.
