James "Jim" Walter Davis, 81, of Lynn Haven, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.Mr. Davis was born in White Hall, IL, and lived in Lynn Haven since 1969. He was retired after 20 years of service from the United States Air Force and retired from the United States Postal Service after 27 years of service which included delivering mail in the Tyndall, Callaway, and Kings Point areas. There are many who may remember Mr. Davis as "Coach Davis" from coaching little league baseball for many years in Lynn Haven. He would often talk about the former games and practices with fondness. Mr. Davis also was a person who seemed to know everyone or would know you in a few minutes after meeting you. He always had a smile on his face and his family often was told how much of a sweetheart he was and that everyone loved him.Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife Juanita H. Davis. His survivors include his two daughters, Deborah Money and her husband, Richard, of Panama City, FL, Ginger Keith and her husband, Audy, of Louisiana; one son, James T. "Tommy" Davis and wife, Stephanie, of Panama City, FL; four grandchildren, Steven Clanton, Melinda Cheatwood and her husband, Eric, David Money and his wife, Kristen, and Phillip Money and his wife, Lindsey; and six great-grandchildren, Brittney Dempsey and husband, Tyler, Hannah Cheatwood, Michael Cheatwood, Zachery Eckel-Stutz, Bryce Money, and Makenzie Money.Funeral services will be held at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 2pm with internment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2013, from 6pm to 8pm. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Angelia Retherford who assisted the family by staying at his side during his time at Bay Medical Center and Shands Hospital at the University of Florida when his family was not always able to be there.
