Mr. James Thomas Carter, 60, of Adel, Ga., passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at his home. He was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Adel, Ga., to Connie James Carter (late) and Evelyn Carter Beck. He was a retired truck drive for Ace Hardware and was of the Baptist faith.Mr. Carter is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Kristi Carter, Ellerbe, N.C.; a daughter, Jeanna Carter, Braselton, Ga.; three grandchildren, J carter, Zackery Carter and Konner Carter, all of Ellerbe, N.C.; his mother and stepfather, Evelyn Carter Beck and Hollis Beck, Adel, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne and Debi Carter, Adel, Ga.; a sister and brother-in-law, Francine and Larry Stone, Tifton, Ga.; and a host of nieces; and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Carter.The Carter family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel, Ga. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery in Eldorado, Ga., with Ms. Kim Stedham officiating.
