A Norfolk, VA native, Mr. Williams retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after more than twenty years of service. He was a longtime member of Faith is the Victory Church in Nashville. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry R. Williams and a brother, Robert F. Williams. Survivors include his loving wife of fifteen years, Judy L. Williams of Madison, TN; his mother, Kathryn Recine of Virginia Beach, VA; five children, Kelly Williams Bergman of Virginia Beach, VA; James S. Williams and his wife, Jeri of Emerald Isle, N.C.; Michael S. Williams and his girlfriend, Debi Lichtenberger of Summerville, S.C., Jamie L. Wilkinson and wife, Bridgette, Shannon Nicole Arthur and husband, Brad, all of Hendersonville, TN; four grandchildren, Caton L. Bergman, Trenton and Riley Arthur and Austin Wilkinson; three sisters, Harriett Phillips of Houston, TX, Marion Holley and husband Calvin of Sargent, TX, Janet Musselwhite and husband William of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Roger A. Williams and wife Kimberly of Norfolk, VA and John Recine of Virginia Beach, VA; loving mother-in-law, Martha Pharris and his best friend, Clifford "Turk" Cottrell and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday October 21 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
