->BANGOR - Born Oct 23, 1939, to Dr. George and Juanita (Ober) Horton. Attended Bangor High School and graduated in 1958 from Hebron Academy where he was a captain of the basketball team and other athletic programs. Graduated from University of Maine in 1963. Received Doctorate of Law from American University, Washington, D.C. in 1966. Also married Ruth in 1966. He returned to Bangor in 1967 to join the firm Albert Winchell. That same year he had his only daughter, Tracy Horton, Chicago. She was the apple of his eye. In 1972 James opened his private practice until 1991. In 1994 James met his wife, Tiffany, in Bangor where they lived and loved until the present. In the last 25 years he became a truly talented gourmet chef. The folks he entertained will attest to this as well as his best friends and dining companions, Michael and Jessica Moretti.He is survived by his two brothers, George Horton of Bangor, and Jack Horton of Dallas; several nieces; and two stepdaughters.He was predeceased by his parents.There will be no ceremony until the Spring when his beloved daughter Tracy can be there.
