James R. Amos, 78, Sarasota, died April 26, 2004. He was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Wyatt, W.Va., and came to Sarasota 10 years ago from New Martinsville, W.Va. He retired as an administrative assistant for the Mobay Chemical Company in New Martinsville after 25 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an elder member of Church of the Palms, a member of the Masonic Lodge with a 50-year pin and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Survivors include sons Jon R. of Paris and David of Lima, Ohio; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Palms. Lemon Bay Funeral Home is in charge.
