James P. Carpenter of Harpursville James P. Carpenter, 87, of Harpursville died Sat. morning May 8, 2010 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hilda Carpenter; his children, Sharon and Ron Bonham, Alvie and Patricia Carpenter, Myrna and David Smith, Alan B. Carpenter and Karen Rhodes, all of Harpursville, Elizabeth and Fred Haynes, Bainbridge; 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and also several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Bethel Chapel, Harpursville, a retired employee of Amphenol in Sidney, member of Harpursville American Legion Post 1596 and an Army Veteran of WW II. Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Wed. at 1 p.m. Rev. William Fowler, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton with military honors.
