James Michael Sidie Sr. of Berkeley Heights, N.J., passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012, in Bridgewater, N.J., at the age of 99. The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, N.J., on Monday, June 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Little Flower Church, Plainfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, on Tuesday, June 12, at 11:30 a.m., followed by the interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, N.J. For directions or more information, please visit ippolitofuneralhomes.com. James was born in Atlantic City, N.J., to Harry Fullerton and Elizabeth Ann (nee McCarthy) Sidie. He lived in Westfield, N.J., for 58 years before moving to Berkeley Heights four years ago. James worked as a vice-president and general manager of Boller Beverages in Elizabeth, N.J., where he worked for 42 years before retiring in 1982. He then served as executive director for the New Jersey Soft Drink Association. He was very active as a CYO leader at St. Michael's Church in Cranford and in the Boy Scouts Troop 73 in Westfield. He was also an avid golfer and loved to travel. James was the beloved husband for 67 years of the late Leona (nee Haugh). He was the loving father of James M. Sidie Jr. and wife, Darlene, of Collegeville, Pa.; Barbara Fittipaldi of Branchburg, N.J.; the late Martha Herr and husband, Michael, of Davenport, Fla.; Thomas Sidie and wife, Karen, of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; Kathleen Bamburak and husband, Peter, of McKinney, Texas; Richard Sidie and wife, Nancy, of Methuen, Mass., and Robert Sidie and wife, Jennifer, of East Stroudsburg, Pa. He is also survived by his 15 adoring grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by his siblings, Catherine and Harry Sidie, and Lillian Rissmiller.
