JAMES LEO CAVANAUGH James Leo Cavanaugh, 83, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008, at his home. He was born November 25, 1924, to James and Mary (Corrigan) Cavanaugh in Quincy, Mass. and had been a resident of Sebring for over 20 years, coming from Massachusetts. He was a city police officer and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on the SS Robert Eden. During his service he was involved in the Murmansk Run. An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Cavanaugh; daughter, Jeanne Liberatore, Norwell, Mass; grandsons, Keith and Trent Liberatore, Rockland, Mass; brother, Edward (and Margaret) Cavanaugh, Wilmington, Mass. and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 4418 Sun ' n Lake Blvd., Sebring, Fl 33872. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
