James Joseph White, 81, died April 8, 2011, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando. He was born in New York City and moved to Apopka in 2009 from Vero Beach, where he lived since 1988. He was a computer programmer for 35 years in the medical insurance industry. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. John of the Cross, where he had been an usher for many years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Finn White; daughters; MaryAnn Cascio of Paint Lick, Ky., Kathleen Berglind of Bayshore, N.Y., Ann Marie Mannino of Apopka and Monica Jean Russe of Fort Pierce; son, Gerard White of Jacksonville; brother, Thomas White of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; sisters, Mary Mawn and Janet Gates, both of Levittown, N.Y., Lillian Clark of Brevard, N.C., and Francis Hansen of Massapequa, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, James White; and granddaughter, Alyssa Marie Mannino. Services: No local services are planned. Interment was April 13 at Veterans' National Cemetery in Bushnell.
