James Jim Kearney, 85 GORHAM-- James Edward Kearney, 85, of Gorham, formerly of East Meadow, N.Y., passed away on Nov. 16, 2005. He was born Oct. 1, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y., James was a veteran of World War II. He proudly served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy from 1939 until the end of the war. James retired from Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery in Queens, N.Y., after 41 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, South America, Egypt, and Greece. He was an avid swimmer, loved maintaining his yard, and fixing things around the house. James was predeceased by Grace, his beloved wife of 49 years. He is survived by sons, James Kearney and life partner Carol Rice of Waterford, Robert Kearney and wife Laura Mike of Standish; daughter, Katherine (Jace) Isaacs and her husband Howard of East Patchogue, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Ross, Brigitte, and Sean. Visiting hours will be held Nov. 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at Thomas Dalton Funeral Home, 2786 Hampsted Turnpike, Leavittown, N.Y. Services will be held at St. Bridget's Church in Westbury, N.Y., at 10 a.m., on Nov. 22. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, N.Y. Arrangements by Thomas F.
