Carter, James J. GREEN ISLAND James J. Carter, 89, a lifelong resident of Green Island, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. He was husband of the late Virginia Crimm Carter and son of the late Thomas and Lena Demarest Carter. Jim had been employed as a driver for Ballentine Beer for 34 years and then E D Beverage for 10 years, retiring 22 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Green Island, a member of the Vagabond Club in Green Island, and an avid golfer, gardener and fisherman. Survivors include his son, James (Eileen) Carter of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Diane Staples, James Carter Jr. and Wayne (Gwen) Carter, all of Stillwater; two brothers, Thomas Carter Jr. of Latham and J. Donald Carter of Fla.; and his companion, Nancy Warzala of Green Island. Jim was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Carter. Funeral services were private under the direction of McNulty Funeral Home in Green Island.
