DUNLAP, JAMES HERBERT - After a lengthy illness at the Lincourt Manor on Saturday, January 5th, 2002, J.H. (Jim) Dunlap of St. Stephen, formerly of Saint John and Sussex, N.B., and husband of Jean (Spinney) Dunlap. Born in Saint John on June 26th, 1921, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Myrtle Clarissa (Mason) Dunlap. Jim is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Jean; two daughters, Janet Dunlap of Quesnel, B.C., and Pege J. Peters and husband Joe of St. Stephen; three sons, James L. MacDonald and wife Barbara of San Diego, CA; Terrance C. and wife Karen of St. Stephen and James O.T. and wife Geri of St. George; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his brother George and wife Jessie of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mildred Blair and his brother Johnny. During World War II, Jim served overseas with the Lake Superior Regiment and served many years in the Canadian Militia. He was employed by the Canadian National Railway from 1946-1955 when he joined Canada Customs. Following his retirement in 1979, Jim and his wife, Jean, spent eleven winter seasons in Florida. Jim was a former member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex, where he served on the Vestry and as warden for several years. He was a current member of Christ Church, St. Stephen, N.B. He was a former member of St. George BR. # 40, Sussex BR. # 20 (Past President) and current member of St. Croix BR. # 9 of the The Royal Canadian Legion. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage St., St. George, N.B. (755-3533), from where the visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11- noon. The Service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the St. George United Baptist Church with the Rev. Peter Mills of Christ Church, St. Stephen, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mary Anne Langmaid of St. Mark's Anglican Church, St. George. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. St. Croix BR. # 9 of the Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a tribute service at graveside. A reception will be held following the service at the Royal Canadian Legion in St. George. For those who wish, memorials to the N.B. Lung Association (P.O. Box 1900, Fredericton, N.B., E3B 5G4); the Charlotte County Extra Mural Hospital; Lincourt Manor Chapel Fund; St. Mark's Anglican Church Rebuilding Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
