-> Kite - James Harvill Williams, 79, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at Blair Nursing Home in Augusta after an extended illness. Mr. Williams was born September 22, 1923. He was son of the late James E. Williams and Lonnie Wheeler Williams. He was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church and also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6602. He graduated from Kite High School then went on to Rabun Gap two year college. He served in the army during World War II. He was with an anti-aircraft group stationed in the Phillipines. Survivors: one sister and brother-in-law, Doris W. and Aaron P. Hendricks of Hinesville; nieces and nephews, Dean and Jane Hendricks of Marietta, Duane and Sheri Hendricks of Savannah, Mary Prince of Metter, Joann and Donnie Jackson of Hinesville; eight grand nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary . Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9th, in Williams Chapel Baptist Church near Kite with Rev. Lamar Kersey and Rev.
