James "JB" Harry, 71, died Jan. 26, 2007, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. He was born in Lynchburg, S.C., and lived in Fort Pierce for 51 years, coming from Lynchburg. Before retirement, he was a police officer in Fort Pierce. He last worked for the St. Lucie County School District in site maintenance. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Harry of Fort Pierce; sons, Robert Howard, Wilber Harry, Clifton Harry and Roosevelt Harry, all of Fort Pierce;daughters, Mattie Cooper of Philadelphia and Gloria Freeman of Fort Pierce; brothers, Willie Harry, Sammie Harry Jr., Robert Harry and Nelson Harry, all of Lynchburg, and Nathaniel Harry of Atlanta; sisters, Mary Singetary and Azalee Harry, both of Sumter, S.C., Virginia Harry of Lynchburg and Eliza Ware of Fort Pierce; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Harry Jr.; brothers, Jonathan Harry and Roosevelt Durant; and sister, Eloise Lisbon. SERVICES: Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce. A service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 3 at the church, with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fort Pierce. Arrangements are by Sarah's Memorial Chapel, Fort Pierce.
