He was born in Miami, Fla., served 21 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant, and a veteran of Vietnam. He retired from Bell South in Miami, moving to Sebring in 1990. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine. He is survived by his wife, Elsie S. Roper of Sebring. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with a celebration of his life at 11a.m., at Morris Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions are requested to be made to Gideons International.
