WILLIAMS, James H. "Jimmy," 81, passed away November 24, 2008. He was a lifelong resident of Tampa and Land O' Lakes, Fla. He and his wife, Lois, were owners of Larson-Williams Florist. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois Larson Williams; daughter, Sandra Colbert; son, Larry Williams and wife, Kelley, and daughter, Suzan Archibald, and husband, Jerry; grand-children, Kristin Medero and husband, Alex, Jayme Williams and wife, Erica, Heather Sidlauskas and husband, Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Taylor, Skylar, Ashtin, Andrea, Grayson, J.J. and Evie; his sister, Mary Anne Schissel and husband, Art, of Calif.; niece, Melinda; and nephew, Emil. Jimmy was very active in many businesses and social projects. He was a member of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Committee of 100, a charter member of the Seminole Heights Optimist Club, and past treasurer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, 708. He held many offices in his local, state, southeastern and National Florist Association FTD. He also served on the president' s council in Washinton, D.C., for imports of foreign flowers. He served on the board of directors of Barnett Bank of Tampa, and was the first two-term president of the Merchants Association of Tampa. He was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Tampa, past member of Ye-Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, Tampa Yacht and Country Club, The Tower Club, Tampa Touchdown Club, and an honored Kentucky Colonel appointed by his good friend Mayor Robert Cherry of Paducah, Ky. A visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 28, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave. A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 29, at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all the people of Melech Lifepath Hospice. You are truly God' s helpers.
