BENNINGTON - James Frazee Davis, 85, died Nov. 23, 2009, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.He was born in Williamstown, Mass., March 21, 1924, the son of Eugene Hiram and Charlotte Elizabeth (Frazee) Davis. He was a 1942 graduate of Williamstown High School. Mr. Davis married Amonda Jane Quackenbush in Bennington in 1946. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and in the Air Force Reserve until 1965; he attained the rank of major. He worked as a supervisor at Polygraphic for 25 years and was employed at Chemfab for several years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Davis was a member of Second Congregational Church, Elks Lodge #567 and American Legion Post #13, all in Bennington. He enjoyed skiing, was an avid golfer and a member of Mount Anthony Country Club of Bennington.Survivors include his wife; two sons, James and Glenn, both of Gilford, N.H.; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons; a brother; Eugene Davis of Casper, Wyo.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was predeceased by five brothers, Donald, Norman, Willard, John and Howard Davis; and a grandson.The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, with the Rev.
