Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for James Eugene Moore, 85, Reece City, who died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013. The Revs. Ken Kelley and Steve Eubanks will officiate. Burial is at Bethany Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory is directing.Mr. Moore was a member of the First Baptist Church of Attalla, where he served as a deacon. He was retired from LTV Steel in Gadsden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester E. and Dovie Moore; brothers, C.E. "Jack" Moore, Horace "Bud" Moore and Billy Moore. Survivors include his wife, Betty Overstreet Moore; daughter, Galen (Bill) Probasco, Mena, Ariz.; son, James Ray (Susan) Moore, Walnut Grove; grandchildren, Jeremy Cole, Nathan Moore, Joshua Moore and Ann Moore; great-grandchild, Walker Cole; sister, Louise Dobbins, Tuscaloosa; brother, Robert S. Moore, Holt; sisters-in-law, Trudy Moore, Holt, and Bobby Williams, Gadsden.Pallbearers are Jeremy Cole, Nathan Moore, Joshua Moore, Wayne Stephens, Jerry Dobbs, Excell Hester, Clark Lewis, James Baker, Tommie Cox and Bob Lankford.Honorary pallbearers are deacons of First Baptist Church of Attalla.Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Alacare Hospice.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Attalla.Visitation is 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
