Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. today, July 1, 2009 at Phenix City First Assembly of God in Phenix City, AL, Pastor Barry Danner will officiate. Burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to Taylor Funeral Home. Mr. Collins was born May 11, 1985 in Stuttgart, Germany to Cheryl Collins and Matthew Collins, Jr. both of Columbus, GA. He was a helicopter mechanic with the US Marines. He was a member of Phenix City First Assembly of God and he participated in the Royal Rangers and the youth group. James leaves to cherish fond memories his parents Matthew and Cheryl of Columbus, GA, his brother Matthew Collins, III, of Columbus, GA, his loving son, Dustyn James Cook of Holland, MI, his grandmothers Lula Grace Collins of Charlotte, NC, and Delorus Williams of Cornelius, NC, his great grandmother, Mattie J. Caldwell (Nana) of Cornelius, NC; two loving nieces, Anghelica Renee' Collins and Aalyiha Arianna Collins of San Angelo, TX; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends including his special brothers John, Gene, and Robert.
