James "Jimbo" Carter, 55, died March 21, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and lived in Okeechobee since 1968. He was a truck driver. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okeechobee. Survivors include his son, Chad T. Carter; sisters, Sue Carter Sturgeon and Joy Carter, all of Okeechobee; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Sr. and Gladys Carter. Services: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. March 26 at Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
