James B. White of Dobbs Ferry died on September 6, 2002 after a brief illness. He was 82. Mr. White served as a Special Agent with the FBI and as an Assistant US Attorney. Mr. White also served as an Assistant District Attorney for New York County and worked as an Investigator with the Waterfront Crime Commission of New York. Mr. White served as an officer in the US Army Air Corps. from 1942 to 1963. At the time of his discharge he held the rank of Captain. He graduated from Fordham Prep., Fordham University and St. John's Law School. Mr. White was President and Counsel of the Jeweler's Security Alliance from 1965 until 1995. Mr. White was a longtime member and served as Secretary of the 24 Karat Club. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 1048 in Dobbs Ferry. Mr. White is survived by his wife, Eileen; sister Helen; a daughter Patricia; four sons: James, Jr., Brian, Michael and Sean; three daughters-in-law: Carolyn, Cynthia and JoAnne; five grandchildren: Daniel, Allyson, John Henry, Brendan and Michael. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Visiting Saturday, 7-9 p.m., Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
