James B. "Sonny" Davis, Jr.of Merrimack, NH; 64 MERRIMACK, NH -- James B. "Sonny" Davis, Jr., 64, of Merrimack, New Hampshire died on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.He was born in February 20, 1949 in Nashua, a son of the late J. Bruce and Camille D. (Noel) Davis. He was the husband of Judith S. (Lyon) Davis whom he married on April 3, 1971. They shared 42 years of marriage.Jim graduated from Bishop Guertin, Class of 1967 which was the first graduating class. He then earned his Bachelor's Degree at the Lowell Technological Institute and his Master's at UMass, Lowell. Jim taught Electrical Engineering at night for 32 years at UMass Lowell. As well, he had worked for Merrimack Magnetics in Lowell, Digital Equipment, Compaq Computers, Nidec in Amherst, Beacon Power for 9 years in Tyngsboro.Jim was an Eagle Scout and as a boy was a member of Eagle Scout Troop 255 at St. Louis in Nashua. He enjoyed his family, trips to Disney World, fishing, hunting, boating, and golfing as well as candlepin bowling for many years.In addition to his wife Judy of 42 years of Merrimack, survivors include a son, Jeffrey P. Davis and his wife Ann of Nashua; a daughter, Karen S. Tremblay and her husband Christopher of Merrimack; three grandchildren, Camille Noelle Tremblay of Merrimack, Erin Elizabeth Davis of Nashua, and James Wilder Davis of Nashua; a brother, Paul M. Davis and his wife Linda of Nashua; two aunts, Ruth Ballou of Surrey, NH and Rita Noel of Nashua; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Judy Lyon of Florida, Clayton Lyon and Annette of Florida, Carl W. Lyon of Virginia, Anita and Daniel Memos of Merrimack, Martha and John Terrell of Vermont, Peter Lyon of Nashua, Mark and Donna Lyon of Antrim, NH; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.DAVIS -- Memorial Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Nashua, 58 Lowell Street, Nashua on Friday at 10 A.M. Friends are invited to attend. Interments prayers and burial will be private.
