Mr. Jacques (Jim) Jean Joseph Larivee August 5, 1931 - November 15, 2008 - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jacques (Jim) Jean Joseph Larivee age 77, on November 15, 2008 at his residence in Amherst, with his family by his side. Born in Granby, Quebec he was a son of the late Theodore and Flore Larivee. He was employed in Granby, Quebec prior to serving as a Medic in the Canadian Forces serving in the Congo and in Germany. Jim finished his military career in Montreal before moving to Amherst in the late 1960's. He worked at the Amherst Co-op, Elmtree Tavern, Wandlyn Inn and retired as a Corp Commissionaire. He was an active member of Holy Family Parish as well as a 4th. Degree Knight and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Amherst. Jim was a former member of the Amherst Fire Department, Royal Canadian Legion Br. #10, Amherst and executive member of the 105 Cumberland Wing and a member of the AA. Jim is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughter Debbie (Darren) Allen and their children Sonja, Kayla, Meranda, Jarah and Nathan, step son Jimmy (Debbie) Wilson and step daughter Sally Cove and her children Patricia, Jamie, Brent and Vicki Lynn all of Amherst. Brothers Roch (Marianne) of Oromocto, NB, Pierre (Lise) of Montreal, PQ, sister Francine (Pierre) Gaudreault of Saint-Hubert, PQ and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Gilles and Michel. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst, with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Cremation will follow with interment in Granby, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Amherst VON, Cumberland Regional Health Care Palliative Care, Canadian Red Cross or the Holy Family Parish Building Fund. www.campbells-amherst.ca
