FURLONG, Jacqueline “Jackie“ (nee Renaud) - Passed away suddenly at the age of 77 years with people whom which she loved so dearly right by her side on November 19, 2008 at SRH (St-Joseph's Health Centre). Jackie was brought into the world in Sudbury, Ontario on February 9th, 1931 through her loving parents Donalda and Emilie Renaud. She was a very patient and wonderful wife to husband Michael Furlong for over 55 years. Jackie was the greatest mother ever to Michelle, a phenomenal mother-in-law to Werner Boeswald and the best Nana ever to both Michael and Christopher. Her oldest grandson Michael was her “Pumpkin Pie“ and her youngest grandson Christopher better known to her as “Critt“ was her “Sweet Pea“. She touched her grandchildren's daily lives with her genuine concern and interest in their well being. Jackie was truly in her element within many flower shops throughout Sudbury. She was the devoted owner of Manhattan Florist located at 22 Durham Street in her younger years and later went on to work for Flower Towne and the Rosery Florist. A woman who was afflicted by countless of medical ailments, she never was one to complain or whine. Jackie had no patience for people who felt sorry for themselves for no apparent good reason. A committed Roman Catholic, she attended weekly mass regularly at Our Lady of Hope. Predeceased by her siblings Charlie (wife Evelyn), Johnny (wife Olga), Paul (wife Joanne), Victor, Joseph, Jeannette (husband Bud) and Loretta (husband Danny). Survived by her sister-in-law Joan Prytaluk (husband Stan), predeceased by her sister-in-law June Jones and her (husband Ken), Edith Furlong, Delores Furlong and her brother-in-law Patrick Furlong (wife Doreen). Jackie had a very special spot in her heart for her dear niece Lori Charlebois. Jackie's strength, humour, courage and resilience will live eternally in our hearts and in our memories. Without a doubt Jackie had a fancy for flowers! Therefore sending flowers would be much welcomed for Jackie however, a donation to The Ten Rainbows Foundation or Northern Ontario Families who have Children with Cancer (two local charities) would be a gesture she would be honoured to have her family and friends contribute to on behalf of her memory. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, November 24th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury. 11331066
