JACK F. WILLIAMSformerly of ApalachinJack F. Williams, 84, formerly of Scranton, Pa. and Apalachin, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at the Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville, after an illness. He was the husband of the former, Elissa L. Marzani, who died in 1992. Born in Peokville, son of the late, Edward and Margaret Egan Williams. He attended Blakely Schools and served in the US Navy, during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Also a member of the McHugh-Bushweller VFW Post No. 3474, Dunmore, Pa. Prior to retirement he worked as a master mechanic and supervisor in the construction industry and worked on the construction of the Berwick Nuclear Plant. He was survived by one son, John R. Williams, Scranton; one daughter, Helen Williams, Apalachin; two brothers, Rev. Raynor Williams, O.F.M., N.Y., N.Y., Eugene Williams, Chula Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Lucille Crotti, R.D. Olyphant, Joan Hunt, Carbondale, Pa.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Grombecki. The Funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m., from the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment is at Abington Hill Cemetery, Clarks-Summit. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
