Jack Eugene Davis April 16, 1928 - October 8, 2014 Columbus, GA- Jack Eugene Davis, 86 of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice . Jack was born April 16, 1928 in Columbus, GA to the late William Frank and Frances Crouch Davis. After graduating from Baker High School, he joined the Navy. When he was discharged from the Navy, Jack came back home and began his career in Telecommunications at Southern Bell which later became AT&T where he was a member of Local C.W.A. Jack had a passion for Georgia Football and loved to collect coins and stamps. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 2:00 pm at Parkhill Cemetery, 4160 Macon RD Columbus, GA with Reverend Roosevelt Oakes Officiating. Other than his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters; one son, Jody David Davis, and one daughter, Rhonda Davis Murdock. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Louise Davis of Columbus, GA; two daughters, Jill Tanner of Columbus, GA and Jenni (Cam) Wallace of Phenix City, AL, and son in-law Keith Tanner of Columbus, GA; six grandchildren, Evan and Jack Tanner, Trey and Matt Murdock, and Casey and Cami Wallace; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
