STUART, Julia Whitaker of Westminster Village, Spanish Fort, AL, died August 3, 2001 after a long illness. Ms. Stuart was born March 18, 1920 in Montgomery, AL to Matthew Hugh and Julia Whitaker Stuart. She worked in Montgomery at Gunter, AFB as a Civilian Employee where she performed the duties of Transportation Officer at the Armed Forces Induction Center. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the DAR and the Magna Carta Dames. Ms. Stuart is survived by her brother, Col. (USAF Retired) Hudson Whitaker (Jean) Stuart of Riverside, CA; four nieces, Xan Stuart Brosseau of Las Vegas, NV, Julia Lee (Tony) Lucatorto of Los Angeles, CA, Katherine Sue Stuart of Soquel, CA and Laura Kim Stuart (John) Williams of Memphis, TN; nine great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew; her special friend and caregiver, Gaynor Turner of Montrose, AL. Graveside services will be Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. from Oakwood Cemetery in Montgomery officiated by Reverend Mark Waldo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wilmer Hall Children's Home, 3811 Old Shell Rd., Mobile, AL, 36601-1396 or St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 28788 N. Main St., Daphne, AL, 36526 in Memory of Ms. Stuart. Arrangements by Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne, AL.
